... le barzallette ...

-Apparentemente i media in amerika parlano di cause oscure e "speculazioni" che hanno provocato la crisi di wall street, ma nessuno vuole indirizzare direttamente le cause.
-In tempi passati esisteva in amerika legislazione contro l'usura, che limitava i tassi di interesse a certi livelli fissati per legge. Con legislazione anti-usura anche altre voci di "costi" irragionevoli passati ai clienti sarebbero risultate illegali.
-Ad un certo punto i furboni di wall street hanno supportato politiche che hanno comportato la eliminazione dei limiti fissati dalle leggi contro l' usura, per cui teoricamente, non esiste piu' un limite del tasso di interesse che una banca puo' praticare.
-Cio' ha comportato il fatto che chi aveva aperto conti al 7% oggi puo' anche pagare il 30% e quando si aggiungano le altre voci, il totale e' al 50% circa.
-Poi e' arrivato il cow boy che ha pensato bene di moltiplicare il debito pubblico di sette volte, con la scusa di guerre "sostenute" come il vietnam, per foraggiare attraverso i cordoni ombelicali del clientelismo, i soliti ignoti di wall street.
-Poi e' arrivata l'inflazione, la fuga dei posti di lavoro in cina, india e filippine.
-Alla fine, nel 2005 il mercato ha cominciato a scicchiolare, quando la gente ha smesso di spendere, colpita dal basso e dall' alto allo stesso tempo, con prezzi e costi in salita e reddito in discesa.
-Nel 2006 si e' fermato il mercato "non foraggiato" dell' automobile, a meta' del 2007 sono anche crollate le vendite di auto nuove, nonostante tutti gli incentivi, ed il prezzo della benzina ha cominciato a salire, ed il mercato immobiliare a precipitare.
-Alla fine del 2007 l'amerika in recessione ha trovato le banche in competizione a vendere le proprieta' immobiliari "al ribasso" per cui la gente comune ha perso la percentuale dei proprii investimenti, a causa di banche che svendevano case sotto il valore di mercato, per ricuperare urgentemente liquidita'.
-Il fatto che nel 2007 e' divenuto pressoche' impossibile vendere proprieta' immobiliari (il 50% delle proprieta' in vendita appartengono a banche), ha causato la "chiusura" del settore delle costruzioni immobiliari, per cui tutta questa gente impiegata in costruzioni e' ora a casa, praticamente tutti "lavoratori autonomi" che non risultano negli indici "ufficiali" di "disoccupazione".
-Nel 2007 si e' fermato il settore automobilistico del nuovo, ad un certo punto gli "incentivi" hanno smesso di funzionare e le banche hanno smesso di comprare carta straccia perche' senza liquidita'.
-Il settore immobiliare ed automobilistico sono la "vera" libera economia americana, che "si e' fermata". Il resto dell' economia che boccheggia e' quella che poco per volta va in fallimento per mancanza di acquirenti, cioe' tutti gli altri.
-L' informazione televisiva mente spudoratamente. Chi ha ritirato i fondi pensione dalle banche lo ha fatto per sopravvivere o per evitare altre perdite. La maggior parte della gente non sa speculare, e la maggior parte della gente e' oggi in crisi in amerika perche' il carburante e' quadruplicato, gli stipendi sono dimezzati o peggio, ed il costo della vita e' raddoppiato.
-Il disastro del mercato immobiliare, alla data attuale, non e' sanabile per almeno due-tre anni, ma per il tempo che comporta il consolidamento di tutti i ratei aggiustabili a scadenza (direi un altro paio d'anni), potra' richiedere quattro anni, per cui il mercato edile probabilmente potra' teoricamente ricominciare a costruire a pieno ritmo nel 2012, se null' altro accade.
-L' unica cosa che potrebbe salvare questo mercato ora, potrebbe essere una liberalizzazione e deregolamentazione delle licenze edili relative a frazionamento, per creare un "nuovo segmento di mercato" che non e' mai esistito in precedenza nella storia dell' america, cioe' una edilizia di piccole superfici, come in europa e giappone, il piu' possibile vicino ai centri delle citta', che "alleggerisca" dal bilancio delle citta' e contee la spesa per il mantenimento di una rete stradale folle composta di autostrade presso il nulla.
-Il disastro del mercato automobilistico, alla data attuale, non e' stabilizzabile per almeno due anni, ma se vengono introdotti modelli rivoluzionari in termini di consumi e di costi, potrebbe fare meglio, anche se il mercato dell' automobile ed il trasporto privato saranno sempre piu' in calo nei prossimi decenni.
-L' uniche cose che potrebbero salvare questo mercato ora, potrebbero essere una liberalizzazione e deregolamentazione dei requisiti di crash test ed anti-inquinamento che consenta la costruzione di auto nuove di piccolo volume e cilindrata, di basso peso e costo, ed il potenziamento del trasporto pubblico, con acquisti di veicoli di piccola stazza e alimentati da carburanti alternativi, e costruzione nelle citta' di trasporto di massa basato su monorotaia.
-Quanto sopra per creare "nuovi segmenti di mercato" mai esistiti in precedenza nella storia dell' america, cioe' un mercato di piccoli diesel-elettrici da cento chilometri litro (meta' del consumo della nuova "rivoluzionaria" autovettura della GM, mi facessero ridere con le cazzate che continuano ad inventare qui), ed un mercato che prepari attraverso un "serio" programma di trasporto pubblico, alle sempre piu' frequenti e sempre piu' care crisi del petrolio, che saranno le caratteristiche dei decenni dopo il "peak" del 2005.
-La realta' della disoccupazione non coincide con cio' che dicono in televisione. Forse, e' piu' realistico parlare, poiche' molti qui non sono lavoratori dipendenti, di una disoccupazione "reale" del doppio, e di una "sotto-occupazione" del 60%.
-La conversione verso una industria "green" non basta, il tracollo finanziario e' inevitabile perche' cosi' e' stato pianificato dai geni americani negli anni ottanta. Questo e' un ulteriore ciclo che e' coerente con la politica dell' amerika degli ultimi trenta anni.
-Quello che vogliono ottenere e' ripeter il 1929 su scala mondiale, in modo da poter spogliare il mondo di ogni possibile ricchezza rimasta, nello stessa logica con cui le banche americane nel 29 causarono la crisi in amerika per impossessarsi di tutto il malloppo.
-Ogni stato occidentale che voglia stare fuori da questa catastrofe, deve oggi considerare di nazionalizzare le banche e le assicurazioni, eliminare l' esposizione attraverso camere di compensazione, e di non considerare piu' nessun interlocutore in materie finanziarie al di fuori del governo dei paesi in questione.
-E' anche opportuno a questo proposito, tenere in considerazione che la federal reserve in amerika e' tanto "federale" quanto la federconsorzi o la federal express, per cui l' interlocutore qui' dovrebbero essere ambasciatori e consoli nelle capitali, e segretario di stato e presidente, nel paese.

... cose interessanti che ho imparato in america ...

... "free market" significa in realta' che il sistema di wall street ottiene tutto quel che vuole gratis, una presa per il fondo schiena senza precedenti storici, gli usurai speculatori delle banche e della finanza sono sostenitori del "free market" nell' altro senso, solo quando si tratta di incassare profitti e giustificare abusi ed usura, e quando alla fine il sistema comincia a marcar male, il loro primo tirapiedi nazionale interviene in nome della commissione trilaterale e degli illuminati delle grandi banche, per salvarli tutti con abbondanza di generosi contributi governativi ...

... ovviamente il primo tirapiedi nazionale e la sua cosca di tirapiedi delle sette sorelle, non aveva queste preoccupazioni quando i cittadini americani perdevano la casa e le fonti di reddito nel 2006 e 2007, a causa dei pesanti disinvestimenti dell economia statunitense nel settore privato, causato principalmente da una inflazione e recessione provocata dai sette miliardi e mezzo di dollari che il programma economico delle crociate del petrolio ha comportato ...

... ovviamente detroit non ha preoccupazioni quando i tirapiedi delle sette sorelle e delle tre grandi industrie dell' automobile possono contare sul solito sistema della privatizzazione dei profitti con la nazionalizzazione delle perdite, per cui l' intero settore petroliere-automobilistico, arrogantemente sicuro di avere nelle proprie tasche il governo, pagato profugatamente con tangenti legali chiamate "contributi elettorali", puo' sempre continuare a costruire cianfrusaglia a quattro ruote da 4 chilometri per litro, tanto alla fine loro licenziano tutti e viene pantalone a regalar loro 700 miliardi come gesto di gratitudine per tutto quello che hanno fatto di buono per i cittadini americani, mentre dall' altro lato, l'interesse sui debiti dei poveri diavoli vittime della democrazia farsa americana, aumenta del 100% all anno ...

... grande fortuna per le sette sorelle, i tre grandi produttori di auto ed il governo latitante, il fatto che gli americani parlano parlano, fanno tanto gli sbruffoni ed i cow boys, ma non hanno nessuno con le palle, come robespierre, che serva a tutti il loro conto ...

Apparentemente, una legge del 1978, ora integrata ed estesa, autorizza il governo statunitense ad intercettare tutti i tipi di comunicazione provenienti o verso l' estero, senza bisogno di particolari permessi giudiziari o legislativi.

E' indispensabile che gli stati europei organizzino i propri servizi di controspionaggio per intercettare ed esaminare qualunque tipo di corrispondenza a comunicazione proveniente da qualunque paese del mondo, in particolare gli stati uniti.

Most of us have noticed in everyday life how hard is to make budget ends meet. We may think is just an illusion and it may be just our limitations fault, and that is perfectly online with whatever the leading class of the worldwide conspiracy against the people likes us all to think, except that the hard empirical facts of a 12% buying power yearly inflation tells otherwise to the ones of us that still think critically of what they hear on manipulated television networks and newspapers.

Most of us have noticed, in the last fifteen years, major changes on media content, whereas real "information" has been substituted by entertaining disinformation, (the ancient romans would call this "circenses", that translates into circus shows). We may think is just an illusion because nothing more significant than the tornado in wyoming has happened today, in "the best possible world" as the voltaire pangloss, just like nbc, cbs and cnn could describe our "perfectly" organized society, with "the best possible" life in the "best possible" standards, however the hard empirical news we can read everyday on all world newspapers tell much more otherwise of what is today consideration of our american perception of "best possible world".

The world consumption economy has reached a stage of self consumption because the all essence of speculation, has prevailed on the issue of technological progress. A greedy class of usury fond bankers and finance speculators has taken over the "real" economy, using a mix of over-regulation and debt-need creation in order to appropriate in a kleptocratic scheme, or should we say more properly "skim", the resources of the "real economy".

The creation of a "regulation standard" has falsified, practically on the market and consequentially on the books, the numbers of what is considered "operating capital", thus destroying real economy to provide a profit for the "paper economy", or better "vaporware economy" of the "friends of the friends" in the churches sponsored economy and the economic capitals of the west.

Shortage of operating capitals and forced depletion of limited resources will change standard life priorities as we go. A long list of items, including the ones we are mostly accustomed to, will progressively become unaffordable to the most of us. This process will have harsh to predict social effects, since most of newer generations don't have the survival skills of the prior ones, nor the instruction means to develop critical or creative thinking. Most of the newer generations, raised in a system of ignorance of real values substituted by the lies of religions and governments, can not even understand what is happening to human rights in the western world.

All indications may seem to lead to a predictable period of generalized confusion, whereas privately owned information media and a market driven means of production, may simply not be able to stand the challenge, due to a generalized oversized system of obsolete regulations built to protect specific interests, will prevent real technological and social progress, essence of a pure libertarian market, thus substituting a society of free trade, with a national socialistic regime of regulated property and market.

The last three decades have made clear that the solution the finance world has defined for the problem, largely to satisfy the need of the privileged structures of society, like government bureaucracy, corporations, churches and political parties, has shifted into an increased reliance on "self financing" trough "over-regulation". The scariest part of this, is that it resembles closely the "eugenetics era" in america and the "nazi era" in germany, and this is not a coincidence.

The term "self financing", of vague nature and difficult to interpret for the non-adept of politics, high government bureaucracy and finance establishment, translates into taking the resources from within where they are in our system, and this means you, your company, and your social class, to be burned in a sacrificial rite to support the status quo, until all it remains are "one" central pole of authority and wealth per sector, under "one" unified central government authority.

If in the mean time in case you may have not understood the steps that brought to this situation, and you live on mars or jupiter, here is a quick update of what happened. In the 20th century the structure of multinational corporations has been taking power over the nationally based world governments, trough successive steps, like the 1929 crisis and the second world war, that permitted to capitalize the takeover, and the repudiation of the gold and silver standard, that permitted to run a perpetual inflation based economy, necessary to stimulate the consumption such multinationals needed.

Multinationals consequentially took over most of governments trough corruption, substituting impartial public servants with their obedient puppets, and thus marking the defeat of indirect democracies worldwide, and causing wars to be fought over futile reasons, wherever there would have been a direct monetary interest. Examples of this situation, could be considered the vietnam war, the revolution in iran, and the invasion of iraq.

It is interesting to analyze that the vietnam war has in the time served the purpose of containing the expansion of an atheist country backed by atheist powers, while the iran revolution and the invasion of iraq, have served the purpose of substituting legitimate states of law with theocracies.

On the later, probably the most, both in iran and iraq, and the most worldwide, would have agreed that both the sha and saddam deserved to be shot, but the main part here is not discussing if it was not right to defeat tyrants, but, mostly, the fact that defeating tyrants in name of bigot democracies at the service of multinational corporations interests, leads inevitably to the raise to power of theocracies most welcomed by the church-finance world corporations conspiracy, that has gone on now for over a century.

Without even considering how happily the puppets of the political and financial world figured a way to spend, just in the useless last occupation war, or should we say waste, about ten trillions of public money, that made rich over war commissions, their campaign sponsoring multinational corporations, and the related class of politically protected "sons of the white duck".

Between the 50 cents bullet it takes to kill a tyrant, to a three and half trillion war, there is a point that could be called "point of common sense", closer to the side of the 50 cents than to the one of the three trillions, and this is really what this all matter is about, insider trading and high treason, for personal benefits, of the wall street "intellighentia" and their political puppets.

... new parties america should have ...

1)A radical party of REAL progressives (in contrast to the fake progressives, named 'democrats'), who would make a national objective overcoming the energy crises with green technology (such as 200mpg 500 lb vehicles, alternative fuels, tides, thermal, wind and solar energy microproduction etc.)

-Such radical party could also battle for a "state of law" whereas anything that is not producing social damage would be de-penalized and not persecuted, for fair labor practice laws and for a universal PUBLIC medical care system, all solutions that would reduce the giant number of bankruptcies in recession, and give citizens what they are entitled to, "the respect of their basic human rights".

2)A libertarian party of REAL conservatives (in contrast to the fake conservatives, of national socialist and theocratic ideology, named 'republicans') to 'dismantle' the zoo, or more accuratelly to rescind the umbelical cord of the zillion of public companies sucking the blood of the federal government billing at monopoly prices currency and services (such as the federal reserve, haliburton, and all the others, including all the fat and tax exempt churches on the US payroll), and to create a "fair" capitalistic system, whereas the notion of "profit" does not include impoverishing and murdering people, or stealuing public money to finance churches, or manipulating the political system and the elected government trough corruption.

-Such libertarian party should also re-establish a regime of accountability in economy, possibly re-introducing the gold standard or a similar method to prevent governments to spend moneys they don't have, eliminate duplicate structures (like reducing the federal government at defense, justice, energy and health and social security), thus obtaining a significant reduction of taxation.

If wall street and its puppets want to run a country ignoring the constitution, they could go buy themselves an island in the pacific that does not have one, and be happy thereafter.

The above just in defense of basic "legality", "fairness", and basic "humanity" in the treatment of people, and probably also to give america a bit more of the "credibility" that america has managed to lose.

-The madness of the amerikan led IT industry may hopefully have to end sooner or later.

-In political terms it is "discrimination" and in business terms is "unfair business practice" to impose on the people to have to change almost everyday their mode of working because "the government" and "the industry" have to chase the latest stupid "technology update" of immature and buggy products, for which the older releases may not be available or may not run in a specific environment.

-The fact that the government encourages this practice with absolutelly no logical standardization on "public domain" formats, (where "public domain" translates into "of property of the people" AS ANY PUBLIC DOCUMENT SHALL BE BY THE LAW), is an indication of the fact that lobbystic and personal interests conflict with the interest of the country and the people, and that the government chooses willingly to violate the country and the people interests, "the national interest", by adopting and mandating such formats, or by omitting to mandate and regulate availability of backward compatibility formats, thus betraying the essence of its "public" function of "regulating" the predominance of the social interest of the many, the people, against the interests of the few, the IT industry, when such behavior generates an enormous amount of waste of national and individual productivity, in any level of society and in any segment of production, without even considering the world effects on US reputation, for such miopic policies.

-If this government would care about public interest, it would "mandate" any public and private document to be available in pure text format and on a "long support" "public domain format" with a 10 year revision cycle, and would "mandate" the use of such format in any transaction having legal effect, in the relations involving the country, regardless if public or private. The absence of legislative intervention to regulate the chaos produced by a miopic chaotic and lunatic industry, is producing damaging loss of productivity of the entire country, for which the amounts are not even possible to estimate at this moment.

-Like the joke said, at our time "computers help to solve problems that were not problems before the computer age", something to meditate about.

... about the economic turmoil ...

Monetary policy is now becoming less and less effective, since people are becoming more and more disillusioned on where their lives are going, in the plans of the illuminati architects in washington dc.

Therefore, America will either decide for a domestic "marshall like" plan for rescue of the economy, including a socialist model creation or takeover into domestic public companies, so that an increase in number of jobs can slow down and stop the credit defaults, or make the cost of its crisis to be paid by the rest of the world with some tricks, as Nixon did abbandoning bretton woods, or do nothing, just as the illuminati did in the beginning of the century, or as they did before 1929 again, choices that lead the economic negative accelerators to produce the bases of two world wars.

Here is what is going to happen soon. America will either come home from the war and call it over, or re-establish the draft to offset the 12 billions a month this war costs, or slimming the government to its skeleton, trough technologies like telecommuting and reduction of public real estate, or letting everything as it is until a stocks exchange crash like in 1929.

The illuminati on washington dc, obviously do not favor the investment into generating work for the people, nor favor stopping this trend of negative accelerator, because their banks are actually going to be making money twice from a country bankrupt where property is going to be priced next to nothing, nor they support stopping a war where they are making huge amounts of money trough their subcontractors companies and trough arm deals across the world, with all the friends and the ennemies at the same time, nor they support stopping the market crisis, because this is a fair justification to permit them offshoring labor to third world countries, and definitivelly bury unions on domestic soil (because of lack of employed members), thus pursuing their illuminati paraos architects dream of a country on minimum wage, so kindly inspired by their master cowboy actor, creator of ten millions of mac donalds jobs.

Whatever is done, no guarantees are reasonably safe, considering also that the baby boomers aging is going to hit hard starting 2011 and in the next ten years, so, unless another bandit like Nixon figures a way to make money out of nothing, or something else is done to fix the fall, there is no possible other outcome than a third world war within the next decade.

... a clarification needed ...

Just to avoid confusion, here is a brief list of what I personally think should be considered fields of public interest by any nation that does not want to be sooner or later destroyed by its own greed and lack of minimum ethics (like for instance respect of basic human right, or violation of international treaties):

-health and social security
-energy
-defense
-justice

The government has the obbligation to make sure that their personnel curriculum is standardized and untouched by the outside opinion myths of mainly fanatic religious and greed interest groups, and in order to do so, the above departments should have their own academies to train and educate their own personnell internally, and to promote within their own institutions, on the base of verifiable results obtained in the fields of competence for the national interest, without regards for any non governmentally obtained titles or classifications.

Also, as mentioned several times, I believe in freedom of choice for pretty much anything not damaging third parties, like choice of controlling birth, or choice of religion, however I do believe that people that recognise the authority of a divinity above their public duty, are "unfit" for public duty because of conflict of interest and historical patterns of behavior.

I am not sure if I could be defined a good supporter of republics, the older I get and the less tolerance I have for the generalized corruption and lack of basic honesty of such institutions. I have always been loyal to my republic, however I reached the point of thinking that, given a choice, the presumed incompetence of monarchies is way better than the arrogant corruption and lack of ethics and conscience (not in religious sense, but in social sense) of republics.

I think to be a libertarian, because for anything not listed above, I support and believe in deregulation and freedom of enterprise, but poor western choices as "employment at will", "kleptocratization" of social security, "medical poorcide", "corruption and criminalization" of society and "freedom of usury" are subjects where the "real" effects are totally disputable, especially now with the generalized western crisis, tip of the iceberg and prelude to the collapse of the western economy.

I am not sure at this point if the leaders of "free market" preachings, are not as bad as their opponents, and I am starting wondering if the whole big chit-chat of the western "intellighenzia" is sincere, or another scum comparable and equivalent to the churches and the socialist lies.

I would like to see a sign from the "western" world, making evident in the facts that all the cold war doctrine was a real philosophy of thought in favor of freedom, and not just the preaching of some other lunatic Illuminati fanatics, just like their counterparts, but I strongly doubt at this point.

If you follow the pattern of the profits you can always see the truths from the political and holy claims, here a nice exercise, get a piece of paper and list the names and the companies that made profits creating disgraces for humanity, since the year 1901, and meditate.

... about conservation ...

I am quite surprised learning from the discovery channel that "religions" are now in favor of nature conservation. Considering that "religions" are the puppets of power and finance, pursuing historically an agenda of power search and oppressive and savage domination, it makes me laugh the fact that the supporters of no birth control, the inspirators of genocides, and the greedy manipulators of holy finances and perpetrators of holy destruction, wars and crusades, are now trying to depict themselves as conservationists.

I find also astonishing that "scientists" don't dispute such "religious" claims, as pure propaganda. The patterns of behaviors of "religions" in the last forty thousand years don't seem to show that much concern about nature and conservation, as the concern about political power, greed, hate and persecution of whoever would try to dispute their claims of false truth, contrary to any scientific evidence.

I guess that monetary and political power can still purchase a lot of "science". Since the time the sun died and raised in three days, on the southern cross at the solstice of winter, probably about or around the 13200 BCE, at the age of the last polar inversion, the translations of the legend of the shepherds and the books of the law felling off the skies, is still finding believers, an amazing track record for a myth with no substantial historical evidence.

Apparently roman sources mention about a Palestinian guy kind like a Che Guevara of the Empire age, titled "Christ", causing troubles in the middle east, somebody that in our days America would be like a traveling preacher trying to demolish the federal reserve building with a jack hammer, but from this to the whole mythology built in twenty centuries, the difference seems to be quite big.

Probably the doctrine of the church, will need to be revised to rotate around Saint Francis of Assisi, in order to support the new age of christian conservation movement. Well, who knows, it may lead to a progress for Christianity, history will tell. In the mean time churches should probably practice on multiplying breads and fishes, or revise their theories on birth control, because otherwise we may need their miracles once the world population doubles again in the next decade.

... alleanza atlantica ...

A questo punto e' necessario rimettere in discussione se l' america abbia titolo a controllare l'alleanza atlantica, subordinando di fatto gli altri paesi membri. E' oggi chiaro che gli stati uniti violano leggi internazionali e commettono atti criminali contro cittadini di tutto il mondo, incluso il loro paese.

E' ovvio che la credibilita' degli stati uniti non e' a questo punto in una situazione accettabile. Il ruolo degli stati uniti nella NATO danneggia l'immagine di tutti i paesi membri, ed in lungo termine espone i paesi membri ad azioni di rappresaglia causate principalmente dalla presenza statunitense.

Sarebbe pertanto auspicabile che il comando della NATO sia affidato ad una rotazione semestrale, sul modello della comunita' europea, dove ognuno dei paesi membri mantenga un periodo di sei mesi o di un anno di comando, a turno.

Una possibile rotazione potrebbe consistere in tre gruppi membro, US, British Commonwealth ed EU, ed eventualmente altri da definire. All' interno di ogni gruppo puo' essere deciso l'incarico dei paesi membri, in proporzione alla popolazione o ad altro accordo.

Quanto sopra nell' interesse della reputazione internazionale della NATO e dei suoi paesi membri.

The problem of governments pushing to "chip" with RFID devices their citizens opens a serious ethical problem, and is a step towards destroying democracy planetwise.

The fact that not only freedom of speech, but also freedom of thought is in danger, may push humanity back thousands of years in history, humans must prepare to fight for their freedom.

I urge people to take action and resist, to prevent the "chip" problem to become the instrument of the new holocaust. Also I invite people to emigrate and support with financial investment, governments and countries with legislation prohibiting human implant of chips, while desupporting financially the countries that plan to implement human chipping technology.

I just finished reading the troll post number one-zillion and something, over the windows versus Linux OS battle, that other unknown troll has digged, causing a surge of arguing as usual. By the way, the Steve Jobs of Linux are at least two, Stallman and Torvalds, and money is not the metric of everything in the universe as you folks think in amerika.

That's why Saint Francis may have not lived a comfortable life like reverend Dollar (is not a joke, it is his name, Google 'IRS Dollar' and you get the article), but Saint Francis is part of history while reverend Dollar may only remain in the history of the IRS claims, suppose they keep the records of the deceased after death.

Anyways, while I was reading the article, flashes from the past came to my mind, from the times the only Microsoft thing existing, was a BASIC compiler, I think it was called BASCom, was not that bad for the times of CP/M but I used Nevada FORTRAN and COBOL, cheaper, producing portable source for other places than PC's and more useful work.

In the early 80's I was asked an opinion on appropriation plans, and I suggested to give a try to a distributed architecture of servers/workstations of the AT&T B class. For various reasons the choices were however going in different directions, and I therefore opted for Honeywell.

I never had an MS/DOS machine, until Windows became a "standard", mainly for lack of decently priced competitors, Concurrent DOS and DESQviewX were clearly superior, but nobody really bought them for serious projects around the environment I was in, nor bothered to ask what we could have wanted.

Anyways, one day I found out that the geniuses in the engineering area, had appropriated a zillion of DOS machines with Windows 3.0 to build a distributed architecture using the Honeywell servers and LAN Manager network. That's when my battle with viruses started.

Never seen a virus before. Not in VMS, not in GCOS, not in CP/M, not in Xenix, not on Mac OS, so I assume, unless anybody can prove me wrong, viruses officially were introduced to computing with the advent of Microsoft introduced features. The introduction of the problem created two new working positions in my branch, and an entire new office at general services, just to support the PCs (I can't resist not to laugh when somebody talks of windows TCO, I had a GCOS machine with years of uptime, all it did in NINE years was crashing one single LARK disk, and the VAX did not even have a single failure in the same time period, I did not check the uptime but I'm quite sure it was the same).

At this times, the Windows machines troubles, in addition to the other folks mentioned, took half my time, and some unaccountable time from the users trying to fix their system before finally giving up and calling from help, admitting of having been 'bugged' somehow. For whatever reason, my Xenix box was not having any issues either, nor it was the OS/2 server, nor the VAX, nor the GCOS systems, not the Mac's, all on the same network, just DOS and Windows.

Next, I left for a new life and now I had to pay for my own software (sigh). I found some work with this software company, and they had a few VAX, a few Alpha, and a few PCs, we ran Tru64, SCO, VMS and NT. The miracle discovery was that there were no viruses running on the Alpha NT, so in a minute of hope I thought that finally windows x86 and PCs were going to be in a giant future trash can, and Alpha would have became the paradise of Windows computing.

In the mean time, I was running Windows at home, and at the business, struggling with the viruses, and hoping that the new emerging Linux would catch up to be usable as SCO. The main issue was recompiling the kernel, on a 386 sometimes it would take all night. At one point I even had one of the first Slackware and Debian running, with dial-in over the phone, so I could provide a cheap x86 stations running a free OS.

For about seven years after, I was out of the computing business, and during this time my systems were dual boot until the advent of XP. Microsoft in the mean time cancelled the Alpha version, obviously when you have something that works and with no viruses, why keep it, it would look bad if you are in the virus distribution servers market (I did not claim the right for this one, he he).

With XP I decided I was done with MS. I bought one for my kid, that's it. I still run 2k versions, only inside virtual machines, most of the times with the network disconnected, and just to run legacy applications until they are ready for the garbage. I may have to buy one more XP64 maybe, but I hope by the time this XP64 will be good to trash, there may be no more need of Windows and MS for the things I do.

Now I run Debian GNU for multimedia, and develop on Oracle on Fedora, Suse and Solaris. I could use Designer in the Windows VM if I have to, but I generally use XE on the Fedora installs. I found peace, no more viruses, no more wasted time, so hopefully as there were no viruses before Microsoft, the hope remains that there will be none left after Microsoft.

If I had to give advice to anybody, I would suggest to buy a Sparc, dual boot with Solaris and Fedora Core, and an AMD_64, quadruple boot with Fedora, Debian, Suse and Solaris. Also, for the ones that are nostalgic of the times of reliable computing, an old Alpha dual boot with Fedora and VMS is a kick, Alpha core runs very very nice on my Miata. I have not had a chance to own an Itanium 64, that would have been my next wish, possibly with VMS, HP-UX and Debian, and maybe also a newer Ibm 6000, but it may not happen any soon.

To be able to define a society as "civilized" it is required the same level of civilization to apply both ways.

As anybody would think is a madness to give an ecclesiastical authority position to each government member, as it was at the times of the "Pharaons", just because of his status, so it is to permit appointing of people who claim to believe in higher authorities than the legitimate governments. The conflict of interest is clear, and so is the basic violation of requirements of unicity of rules and command, making this type of people "unfit" to represent common law interest. I am sure most of the very few religious spirits who are not religious just because of the power and social advantage of being so, may probably agree on this issue. It is quite simple. if you don't believe in a republic because you want a monarchy, don't seek public office and go open the political party for a poll to establish a monarchy, and if you don't believe in the authority of governments because you believe in the highest authority of god, don't seek public office and go open a church.

The second part of this problem, is the misuse of governments funds to finance churches, and the lack of collection of taxes for such institutions, which should technically considered a form of racketeering. Obviously, if anybody should be equal in front of law, in a "real" state of law, churches should equally pay taxes as corporations.

The third part of the problem are the basic human rights of birth, poverty, death, marriage and health, whereas strongly governments and churches are allied with the organized crime racket, to squeeze whatever they can from their citizens. A "civilized" country, one in the future, because nothing as such exists to our days, would nationalize and provide free this services to their citizens. Also a "civilized" country would not stick it's nose in a discriminatory way into contracts such as marriages, that should regarded the same way as business contracts. It is not the business of governments to indicate or to determine "morals". So it should be an argument left to the snake oil salesmen to discuss on sundays on their altars.
